Match report A cup game against Basingstoke, 9 aside with 8 balls an over's

Loosing the toss again we were put into the field by Basingstoke who made 139 off their 15 over’s finding the gaps in the field well. We generally fielded well but need to ensure we do not let the singles turn into to fours by using the long barrier to stop the ball.

It was going to be tough to chase down 139 but with 9 fielders there were gaps in the field. The opening batsmen kept the scoring rate up matching Basingstoke for the first 6 over’s then the loss of 2 wickets slowed down the scoring rate.

We batted on but were always behind the run rate and unable to score off some excellent straight bowling.

A good effort from the team against a well organised opposition. We need more runs to come from the lower order batsmen to give us that winning edge.
