Match report The U'16B team this year is very much a young side, consisiting of mainly U'12 and U'13's. This was not to stop them, however, from putting in a top effort against a strong Cove side.
Yateley fielded first, and quickly pegged back the opposition. Great bowling figures all around, especially Natasha (4-0-7-1), meant that Cove never really looked like being able to score a large target, and they finished their 20 overs with 71 on the board.
Yateley got off to a quick start, with some great running between the wickets. and despite two early wickets, P and Tash put on what looked to be a match winning partnership. Unfortunately, as the finishing line drew near, both lost their wickets, and Yateley fell just short.
A great performance from such a young side, and it bodes well that such a young team can perform so well against strength and experience.
