Match report Alanna Birch Reports

We turned up at Aldershot not knowing what their team was like as they were not in the league last year. We won the toss for the first time this season and decided to field first. We opened the bowling with AJ and Jess who did their very best to keep the run rate down. There was some great bowling by Alice and Kathryn, who both picked up 1 wicket each. Georghia and both Emma R and Emma C also bowled well. Addie kept really well behind the stumps and Kathryn did a great job in the field diving to stop the fours. At the end of Aldershot’s 20 over’s they had scored 117.
After a short break between the innings Yateley opened the batting with captain AJ and vice captain Jess. Both girls got us off to a good start hitting the bad balls for 4,however this only lasted a couple of over’s before AJ played across the line to a straight ball and got bowled. This then brought Alice to the crease who did some great shots but Alice got bowled and Jess got out as well, which then brought Emma R and Emma C to the crease who took the singles but Emma C got run out which then brought Kathryn to the crease who scored 6 off of only a few balls.
Overall this was a good team effort from all the girls who played. Well done girls for keeping the team spirit high.
