Match report On a very warm Saturday morning the 7 players of Yateley took on the Hartley Wintney B team. Yateley batted first and the running between the wickets was the difference as we reached 277 despite not hitting a single boundary. Really pleased with the girls especially Libby, Jess and Lucy who stepped up from the U9's.
After a well earned drink we took to the field knowing if we bowled well and fielded well the game would be ours and that proved to be the case. Anna started well with a tight over and then Jess F bowled a lovely maiden over. there were then wickets for Jess M & Hannah which meant after 5 overs HW were only on 214. A good over from Imogen and a wicket for Libby meant that Yateley were in a good position despite a comedy moment when Hannah missed a run out when it was almost impossible to miss the stumps. The HW team hit some good boundaries including a great six but the Yateley girls stuck at it and Hannah redeemed herself with 2 run outs in her second over to set up the win. Jess F and Anna then bowled 2 very tight final overs to win the game by 9 runs.
