Yateley Girls

Our Girls and coaches

Our vibrant and energetic Girls section provides a variety of cricket in different formats for girls aged from 6 to 16. Our aims are for all girls to develop their skills in a safe, exciting and positive environment where everyone enjoys their cricket and reaches their full potential as part of a team. Many of our girls have represented their District (RPC) and County over the years. All our coaches are DBS checked while our lead coaches all hold ECB Level 2 qualifications.

What cricket do we offer?

Girls Summer Cricket 2024
This summer we have entered Girls' teams into the new Hampshire Junior Cricket Championship which has replaced the NHYCL with teams playing in the U9, U11 softball, U11 hardball, U13 and two teams in the U16 Divisions. We have also entered the Cup Competitions at U11, U13 and U16 to enable our girls to have even more opportunities to play cricket.

We will also play friendly games against other local clubs plus in-house mixed Boys/Girls matches with the focus very much on participation, inclusion and enjoyment for all. In September we start our 'transition to hardball' sessions for U10/U11 girls and begin our indoor preparation for the indoor league season.

0ur older girls also regularly play as part of our two Women's teams in the Hampshire Cricket League where we compete in Divisions Two and Three.
All our teams play with a fantastic team spirit and we always welcome new recruits to our friendly and welcoming section; just get in touch with Rachel McGowan whose details are at the bottom of the page.

Indoor Cricket 2023/24
We enter the Girls Indoor League at Dummer Indoor Centre which runs on Saturday afternoons with our U11, U13 and U16 hardball teams
playing in the League. Older girls also play as part of our two Women's teams who play in the Women's Indoor League on Sunday afternoons. Cricket takes place all year round at Yateley!

Older girls help with the younger teams as helpers and positive role models, supporting U9 and U11 training each week and we encourage our senior girls to take part in the Hampshire Club Champions scheme.
We always appreciate all the support of our parents too to help us maintain our friendly, lively section.
Everyone  is a vital and valued part of the Yateley Girls team.

When and where do we train?

Summer Outdoor training takes place at Yateley CC, Sean Devereux Park, Chandlers Lane, Yateley, 6pm - 8pm (various age groups) on Fridays from mid April to the end of July.
