Our Girls and coaches
Our vibrant and energetic Girls section provides a variety of cricket in different formats for girls aged from 6 to 16. Our aims are for all girls to develop their skills in a safe, exciting and positive environment where everyone enjoys their cricket and reaches their full potential as part of a team. Many of our girls have represented their District (RPC) and County over the years. All our coaches are DBS checked while our lead coaches all hold ECB Level 2 qualifications.
What cricket do we offer?
Girls Summer Cricket 2021
This season we have entered teams once more into the North Hampshire Youth Cricket League. We have Girls’ teams playing in the U9, U11 softball, U11 hardball, U13 and U16 Divisions plus the U11 and U13 Mixed Cups.
We also organise friendly games against other local clubs plus in-house mixed Boys/Girls matches. With the focus very much on participation, inclusion and enjoyment for all, our girls play cricket right into September with informal ‘turn up and play’ matches continuing into the summer holidays too.
0ur older girls also regularly play as part of our two Women's teams in the Hampshire League where we compete in Divisions Two and three.
All our teams play with a fantastic team spirit and we always welcome new recruits to our friendly and welcoming section; just get in touch with Rachel McGowan whose details are at the bottom of the page.
Friendlies and tournaments
Each season we hold our annual Yateley Girls Softball Festival attended by teams of our own U7, U9 and U11 girls. Our older girls umpire and help to score the Festival on the day meaning that all the girls are involved either as players or volunteers.
In 2020 this was sadly put on hold with Covid 19 but we plan to run this once again in 2021.
We are waiting to see which Tournaments will be running this year.
Older girls help with the younger teams as helpers and positive role models, supporting U9s training each week. We always appreciate all the support of our parents too to help us maintain our friendly, lively section. Everyone is a vital and valued part of the Yateley Girls team.
When and where do we train?
Summer Outdoor training normally takes place (Covid restrictions allowing) at Yateley CC, Sean Devereux Park, Chandlers Lane, Yateley, 6pm - 8pm (various age groups) on Fridays from mid April to the end of July.
Saturday morning nets run from May to end September for U11s and older, weather permitting.
