Yateley Girls

Our Girls and coaches

Our vibrant and energetic Girls section provides a variety of cricket in different formats for girls aged from 6 to 17. Our aims are for all girls to develop their skills in a safe, exciting and positive environment where everyone enjoys their cricket and reaches their full potential as part of a team. Many of our girls have represented their District (RPC) and County over the years. All our coaches are DBS checked while our lead coaches all hold ECB Level 2 or Core coach qualifications.

What cricket do we offer?

Girls Summer Cricket 2026
This coming summer we have entered Girls' teams into the Serious Cricket Hampshire Junior Cricket Championship (SCHJC) with teams playing in the GU9, GU11 softball, GU11 hardball, two GU13 teams plus the new GU15 and GU17 Divisions. We have also entered the Cup Competitions to enable our girls to have even more opportunities to play cricket.

We will also play friendly games against other local clubs plus in-house mixed Boys/Girls matches with the focus very much on participation, inclusion and enjoyment for all. In September we start our 'transition to hardball' sessions for U10/U11 girls and begin our indoor preparation for the indoor league season.

Our older girls also regularly play as part of our two Women's teams in the Hampshire Cricket League where we compete in Divisions One and Three.
All our teams play with a fantastic team spirit and we always welcome new recruits to our friendly and welcoming section; just get in touch with Rachel McGowan whose details are at the bottom of the page.

Indoor Cricket 2025/26
We enter the Girls Indoor League at Dummer Indoor Centre which runs on Saturday afternoons with our GU11s playing as part of the mixed teams and GU13 team
playing in the Girl's League. Older girls also play as part of our Women's team who play in the Women's Indoor League on Sunday afternoons. Cricket takes place all year round at Yateley!

Volunteers
Older girls help with the younger teams as helpers and positive role models, supporting GU9, GU11 and GU13 training each week and we encourage our senior girls to take part in the Hampshire Club Champions scheme.
We always appreciate all the support of our parents too to help us maintain our friendly, lively section.
Everyone  is a vital and valued part of the Yateley Girls team.
