Our Boys Section

We run a lively and energetic Boy’s section from U7s up to U15s. We have a strong coaching set up with all Lead Coaches ECB qualified. We encourage the learning of new skills and team working in an enjoyable, learning environment, aiming to generate a terrific team spirit. We have produced many District and County level youth players over the years including two who went on to play professionally for Hampshire.

What cricket do we offer?

Summer Cricket 2025
Next season we will enter teams once more into the Serious Cricket Hampshire Junior Championship. We have teams at each age group - U9 Tier 1 and 2, U11, U13, U15 and U17 and also play in Cup Competitions.

We organise friendly games plus in-house mixed Boys/Girls matches and encourage the widest possible participation.

Winter Training and Indoor Cricket

We train indoors from early January to April and also enter teams in the Dummer Indoor League at U9 and U11.

Summer Outdoor Training

This takes place at Yateley CC, Sean Devereux Park, Chandlers Lane, Yateley, 6pm - 8pm  on Fridays from late April to the end of July.

Volunteers

Older boys help with the younger teams as assistants sometimes as part of a Duke of Edinburgh scheme or equivalent. We always appreciate the support of our parents in helping us maintain a vibrant section.

Coaches

The Junior section is coached by a number of ECB qualified Coaches, we are currently agreeing which coaches will be assigned to each team for the coming season, so watch this space.

All teams will be able call on additional experienced coaching support from ECB level 3 Coach Colin Justice (see
Pen Picture),
The club has been successful in Junior competitions in the past but this is not the main aim of the coaches.  An emphasis on enjoyment, team spirit and good attitude takes precedence, and there is a belief that good technical coaching will only produce excellent results when accompanied by a friendly sporting atmosphere.

Coaching begins indoors every January on Sunday afternoons and continues outdoors at Sean Devereux Park from early May.
