The Weekend AheadLast weekend was a good weekend overall for the club although the 1st XI did lose an exciting tussle with Wokingham by a single run. The 2nd XI recorded their second success, with a 6 wicket win against the British Airways. There were encouraging draws for the 3rd’s and 4th’s which showed real encouragement and at the clubhouse after the game spirits were high.
This weekend the 1st’s welcome back James Suddens who missed last week’s game. John is currently studying at Portsmouth University and has joined us for the first part of the season. Cookham Dean are our opponents and they like ourselves has lost their first 2 games. Lets home we can kick start our season with a win this weekend.
The 2nd’s play host to Cookham Dean who started the season with a win and a draw. Skipper Dan Bone has retained his place in the first team so Gerhard continues to deputise as captain. Let’s build on this good start !!!!!!!
The 3rd’s face Royal Ascot who also have 2 wins from their opening games and the 4ths are at Sonning who have not played this season due to their opponents dropping out on both occasions.
Sundays game against Falkland has been cancelled as we are unable to raise a side.
Congratulations to Ryan Bone who represented the League Representative League against the ETCL last week in the Sovereign Cup. Ryan was not out having batted only a few balls in a 9 wicket victory.
