YCC: Highlights 18th-24th Aug – centuries for Ryan & Jason, fifers for Kumar & Haig and the Guy Jewell Cup for the club
Many thanks to Debbie Pienaar who produced a delicious for the 1s and to Paula Sugars who was all ready to prepare the 4s tea before it got called off by the opposition.
Highlights
Guy Jewell Cup
1st XI retain the Guy Jewell Cup – beating Old Basing in the semi-final by 9 wickets, Old Basing 136 from their 16 overs, YCC scored the runs in 13.3 overs for the loss of just one wicket, James Halson 85no.
….and the Basingstoke in the final, Basingstoke set a target of 132 which YCC reached in just 14 overs, Jon Dow 50, Ryan Bone 38no, James Halson 30, 2 wickets each for Sadagopan Kumar, Stuart Lipo and Jacques Pienaar and 1 for Ant Muir. 1st XI - century for Ryan and fifer for Kumar as beat Henley by 6 wickets – Henley 178 for 9, YCC 179 for 4. 5 wickets for Sadagopan Kumar, 2 for Harry Bartlett and 1 for Ant Muir, Ryan Bone 105no. Click here for the scorecard.

3rd XI – century for Jason and fifer for Haig & another convincing win against Eversley 4. YCC 234 for 2 dec, Eversley 116ao. Reading 60ao. Andy’s Match Report While the Rock's away the Pebble will play. Pebble finally joined the S"TON"e club this week having threatened last week, with a faultless 106*. Pebble was well supported by P Nichols (81), P Mitchell (29) .... oh and special mention for D MacGregor (14*) who ably wielded his haggis to partner Pebble to the declaration @ 234 for 2 off 36 overs.
Eversley were never really able to mount a counter attack losing wickets regularly before finishing on 116 all out off 35 overs. H Franklin was the pick of the bowling with 5 for 28, supported by R Stentiford 1-9, J Vincent 1-31, I Akhtar 1-7, A Davies 1-8.
