Match Report 1st XI
Kidmore End opted to bat and were probably regretting the decision when they were reduced to 3 for 9 in the 8th over, our bowlers continued to do damage and by 19th over Kidmore End were 48 for 5. However, their no 6 bat steady the ship scoring 100 to take his team to 183 all out in 43 overs. Stuart Lipo was the pick of the bowlers finishing 4 for 42 with Ant Muir and Rhodes Franklin taking 2 each. James Muir and John Howells put on 32 for the first wicket and when James Muir was lbw, Mannu Rawat joined John and we were crusing at 70 for 1 off 23 overs. Loosing 4 quick wickets we were 128 for 7. However, when Jacques Pienaar joined Liam Roper they put on 56 to see the side home with 8 overs to spare (Jacques Pienaar 44no, Liam Roper 27no). Match Report 3rd XI
Falkland won the toss and put Yateley into bat. A solid partnership of 41 (J Garrett 4\R Ive 44) got Yateley off to a good start. Good contributions saw Yateley score 205 for 8 dec off 43 Overs (P Mitchell 34\U Shishodia 39\A Matthews 29*).
With another fantastic Tea provided by K Mitchell behind us, Yateley set about reducing Falkland to 27 for 5 (A Davies 2\A Birch 1\A McGowan 2), before Falkland recovered to post a credible 142. A Birch 3\A McGowan 3\A Davies 2\I Akhtar 1\Shezan 1 taking the wickets.
A good solid batting\bowling performance backed up by some good fielding gave Yateley 3's a great start to the season.
Champagne moment of the match was supplied by P Mitchell who told his skipper to get off after bowling just 1 over of his 2nd spell!!! and let Alanna Birch bowl. Alanna Birch duly responded taking the final 2 wickets. Click here for scorecard.
