Yateley U15s finish 3rd in the National Finals

Yateley U15s finished a great season as they finished 3rd in the National finals in Leicestershire. Yateley lost to eventual winners Wanstead who had 3 England trialists in their ranks such was the standard of the competition. Yateley put in a fantastic performance in the field bowling Wanstead out or only 82. Ollly Dodds 3 for 3, Olly Soames 2 for 25 were the leading lights.  When Yateley batted they were kept in check by some very tight bowling and were always behind the clock. They were eventually bowled out for 66 leaving Wanstead the winners by 16 runs.

Yateley played Unity Casuals from Nottingham in the 3rd place match and were easy winners by 59 runs. Yateley scored 128 for 6 with Oliver Soames leading the way with 50no. Unity were no match for the Yateley attack and were bowled out for only 69. Jacques Pienaar 2 for 1, Ben Moran Wardle 2 for 14 were the bowling stars.

Wanstead demolished Aston Rowatt in the final by 91 runs

This was a tremendous achievement for Yateley in a tournament which started with over 1700 competitors. The boys had the pleasure of netting with Graeme Swann and Luke Wright and later had pictures with ex England captain Michael Vaughan.

Yateley have been invited to provide the Guard of Honour at the upcoming One day International at the Rose Bowl on September 22nd as a tribute to their success this year.
