Yateley U15s reached the final of the County Cup after a tense 6 wicket victory over St Cross. Yateley marshalled brilliantly by Charlie Harris kept St Cross to only 116 for 4 off their 20 overs. Miles Covers 4 for 15 and BMW 4 for 19 were outstanding, but they received fine support in the field from the whole of the team.
When Yateley batted they made a strong start with Liam Roper and James Halson (18) adding 42 for the 1st wicket. Yateley started to drift behind the run rate but a fine knock of 30 by Miles Covers turned things back in Yateley's favour. Liam Roper got through some difficult times in the middle to score a 4 to win the game for Yateley with 6 balls remaining. Liam scored 34 not out . This was a fine effort by the whole team who showed a tremendous spirit especially in the field.
The coaches would like to thank all parents who attended for their tremendous support. We have a very good team on and off the pitch, and I am sure we can bring the Cup back on the 6th July. This match is a 6pm start at Hursley Park Cricket Club.
