Match report Losing the toss on a hot and sticky afternoon YCC started well with Sam Brown, George Murphy and Josh Gore keeping the home team in check, but without any joy in the wickets front. On a good track and with a fast outfield, Valley End accelerated in the second half of their innings and posted a daunting 223-5.
Sam Brown (on debut) and Ollie Reece started briskly, but Ollie hit a return catch and Sam was run out leaving George Murphy and Josh Gore together, George held up one end while Josh set about the home attack with relish before sportingly retiring unbeaten on 51 to give the other youngsters a bat. The win was beyond Yateley but the side held out (with Josh padded in in case) to end on 150-8.
A good game played in good spirits on a great ground - we also avoided the thunderstorms!
