Match report Feisty! - shall we leave it at that?

Lost the toss (yeah, I know) and put into bat on a green track, punctuated with tinges of more green! But as is now customary at SDP, the pitch belied all of that and played well (ask Joe!), with just the occasional uneven bounce.
Anthony and Asim got us off to a steady start as usual. Enter John. Whatever he had for breakfast, we all want some as he laid into their off spinner from ball one. This laid the foundations for Joe and Vinay to cart the ball 360 degrees! Joe was in imperious form with some of the cleanest hitting you will see. I so wanted to tell him he was on 88 at 38 but stuck to protocol. Finished with a club best of 94 not out. Well played!
Again with Vinay, he set about the Reading top order with his now infamous left-arm in-swing (to right handers). Reading were in tatters at 45 for 6. But that's where they had a resurgence, especially for the 8th wicket. Their left hander at 9 started to hit out. All of a sudden, it was game on!! To such an extent, just 4 an over needed off the last 12. Nerves shredded, the skipper pulled a master stroke - he brought Joe back!! (ok, maybe it was obvious). And Joe cleaned up to claim 7. Quite a game after all that!
