Match report On a rain hit day the final Sunday match was still completed without reduced overs. Yateley batted first and Ant McGowan (50 retired) and Asim Kayani (44) featured in a first innings of 183-7 which felt a bit below par, but still defensible.

An early wicket for George Murphy got us off to a good start, but despite the rain, the pitch still played true and the runs started to flow. The threatening stand was broken by "super sub" Ollie Reece who calmly took a skyer on the ropes and then an overhead skimmer at mid off to wrest some degree of control back for Yateley. Josh Gore then brought some control to reduce the run rate (and take a couple of wickets) and Vid Sharma at the other end enticed the last dangerous batsman to miscue to James Lockwood on the boundary and Ollie Reece calmly took his third catch off another miscue from Vid and Yateley were on top. John Murphy then mopped up the tail to seal a 53 run victory.

It was a good display in the field, very few mis-fields and 5 good catches taken (none looked like being dropped).

A good way to end the season and thank you to Fairlands for playing in the right spirit...
