Match was Abandoned

Match report First start in a few weeks at Frimley lodge under grey skies and a damp atmosphere (!). Having elected to bat, the Super XI found the going tough against Aziz and Shreyas. Aziz was unlucky as he frequently beat the bat for no reward. At the other end Shreyas exploited the conditions beautifully to leave the opposition in trouble at 22-4. Despite early wickets from the change bowlers of Will Forster and Praful (great catch standing up from Joe Lockwood) the scoring accelerated and three figures was reached.
Time to call back the openers and Shreyas got his reward in his first over back when Ollie Reese took an outstanding catch, running around to plant himself under a high ball (in even damper conditions now) to dismiss their key batman on 47. Sadly conditions were now pretty bad, so now the debutant Shreyas had his 5th wicket we ran for cover and the match was abandoned soon after.
It was great to see the enthusiasm of the youngsters (and some of the less young) in trying conditions and it was a shame that we could not complete the match.
