Match report A great way to end the season against a Buddhi Invitational XI.
A virtual toss (opposition skipper said if we would like to bat, we should bat!)
So Harry and Asim set us off. And while Harry raced to yet another 50 (at which point he left the field, retired not out), we started to lose a steady stream of wickets at the other end.
Sanjeet, Arslan and Joe stemmed the tide before a 55 run stand for the last wicket allowed us to rally to a smart 221 off our 40.
Star of the show in the 2nd innings was young Savir who spun the ball like a top to claim 6 for not many, a fantastic effort.
It was a good job he did because the 9th wicket pair looked for a moment as though they might claim an unlikely victory. Harry taking a smart catch on the deep mid-wicket boundary to round things off.
Had he not done so, we were running short of bowling. He may have had to turn his arm over, or maybe even the skipper - shudder at the thought!!
Terrific game, great spirit and hopefully this might become an annual fixture.
