Match report Some last minute selection changes which saw Lottie drafted into the U16 team and 3 of the u11 girls joined us.
Amber and Hannah opened up and found it tough only making it to 215 after 4 overs. Gaby and Niamh then took us to 232 at the halfway point with two lovely boundaries from Niamh.
Jess and Aryana picked up the pace a liitle adding 21, even they found runs hard to come by. Finally Millie and Maja took the total to 265 for 5 at the end of the innings, which looked a few runs short of the 280 I would have liked.
yes again the girls set about bowling tight to apply pressure and in the 2nd over Millie bowled a wide, Aldershot started to run and Gaby's quick thinking behind the stumps led to the unusual dismissal of stumped off a wide! however after 4 overs Aldershot were on 227 and cruising. Then the runs kept flowing with Hannah and Jess both having off days with the ball, meaning at the halfway stage Aldershot were 264! then came 4 tremendous overs, Amber took a wicket, Millie bowled a maiden, Ary bowed a tight over and then Niamh took a wicket which meant that after 12 overs the total was still 264. Aldershot then steadily added runs to be 282 with one over left. Amber bowling the last asked me how many wickets she needed to win the game, I said 4!!! She then bowled a superb delivery to bowl Daisy, then second ball a mix up led to a run out as jess and Hannah combined to force a run out. 4 balls left and now only 2 wickets needed. Amber then beat the bat twice before a lovely cover drive from Daisy put the game beyond doubt. it was not meant to be but we had a jolly good go.
