Yateley Cricket Club Lost but enjoyable inaugural game!

Match report Plans to launch our Women's Softball team in 2020 were put on hold due to Covid 19 with no Festivals running this season. An invite from Mark at Eversley meant a short trip along the road for our newly formed team, several of whom had never batted or bowled. No matter - this sport is all about fun, enjoyment and learning along the way. Plenty of spectators for Yateley who were smiling despite several sharp showers! ( Do we play in the rain? Yep.)
Yateley batted first with runs for everyone and a fine scattering of boundaries throughout the innings. Fast running between the wickets and some backing up spotted.

Captain Georghia set her field and it was clear there were some experienced batters. However, the Yateley Women were prepared to dive (yes really!) and cut off several boundaries with excellent fielding and stops. Sharp fielding resulted in three excellent runouts and despite Eversley getting the runs they needed Yateley Women have set the bar high with their first match! Plenty of laughs, team spirit and bags of enthusiasm.... Go Yateley!
