Yateley Cricket Club Lost by 11 runs

Match report All good things must come to an end and the U13 were finally beaten by an 'Experienced' Eversley team.

Due to some heavy rain the All weather pitch was the only option and it proved to favour the bowlers more with 16 wickets falling in the match.
Eversley took a wicket with the first ball and more followed as Hannah and Amber found it tough against good early bowling, However thanks to some big hitting from Frida (16) and support from Niamh (6) YCC recovered to be 211 at the half way stage.
Gabby and Amelie then accumulated more to take the total to 220 after 12 and Millie and Philippa added more to take the final score to 229 of the 16 overs.
The girls were disappointed with the amount of wickets lost and to be fair were unlucky on a couple of occasions.

However they came out with big smiles on their faces and a 'have a go attitude' and when Amelie and Amber both took wickets in their first overs, the girls began to believe they could defend a low total. on came Frida to take 3 quick wickets in a superb spell and after 8 overs the total was just 208 and the game was very much in the balance. up popped Niamh and Millie who both took wickets and Niamh ending with excellent figures of 1 for 1. with the score still at 208 after 12 overs it came down to weather or not Yateley could contain Eversleys star batter and on the day Cara's 20* was the difference between the 2 teams and Eversley finished on 240 for 8.
Maybe on another day the luck would have gone our way but the bowling display was tremendous with the pick of the bowlers being Frida with 3 for 7 off 3 overs and Amelie with 2 for 2 of 3 overs.

so proud of this team today and Captain Millie learned a lot about her team under pressure in a low scoring encounter.
