Match report Lost the toss, was asked to bat!
The top order saw off the new ball as planned ....... Duncan arrived at 2 for 3 off 6 overs!!!!!!
He was joined by Ollie at 15 for 4 off 9 but they both duly knuckled down to mend the innings, the feature being their running between the wickets. Has Duncan ever run so many 3s? They added 64 when Duncan was finally bowled. Enter Vinay! For a man who couldn't buy a run up to 2 weeks ago, we are now seeing what we all know. Ollie finally holed out for an excellent 45 before Vinay nursed the tail (and himself to a 50) through to 174 for 9. Stoppy pitch, slow outfield, long boundaries ....... Excellent recovery!!
Then it was a case of hand the ball to Joe M, ask him to swing it round corners, clap everybody off and go home!! While he was unplayable, Vinay was frugal, Joe Scott a good backup and Savir took his first senior men's wicket in league cricket. Not sure I've ever played in a game quite like that!?
