Match report Won the toss - and batted!
Whilst the pitch looked ok and the outfield fast (which it proved), what I had failed to notice was a certain ridge at one end of the track.
I spotted it once I was sat on the boundary edge scoring - but by that time, their opening bowler had accounted for our top order. Anthony made a good fist of it before nicking one.
Duncan proceeded to settle things down before Naveen, and then Izzy, gave the back end of the innings some much needed impetus. We did well to recover to 146 but it did feel light.
In reply, we struggled to tie them down as the fast outfield really came into play. It was like an ice rink. And as luck would have it, the pitch appeared to flatten out!
Vinay however was the exception with 2 fine spells. And then "Golden Arm" Praful weighed in with a couple, one courtesy of an excellent grab on the boundary by Joe M.
Tough to lose but the game was enjoyable nonetheless. Bring on NPL!!!
