Cove v Yateley Cricket Club U11 Girls Softball on Tue 16 Jul 2019 at 6pm
Yateley Cricket Club Won by 49 runs

Match report coming to the end of the season and the girls were keen to get another win, however a young Cove team got off to a great start scoring 28 off the first 4 overs, Hannah then took the first wicket thanks to an excellent catch at mid wicket by Amber. 3 more tight overs meant at the halfway stage cove were only on 234. A wicket from Aryana and Chloe's first wicket for YCC meant after 12 overs cove had only reached 240. Hannah then took another wicket to finish as the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets for just 3 runs and the fact that she had to leave the field with a Hypo. Cove added a few more to finish on 253 for 4.
A drink and some Homemade Ginger biscuits, courtesy of Hannah and the girls were off to chase down the total.
Hannah and Chloe opened the innings and never looked in trouble, a couple of boundaries from Hannah and some quick singles by Chloe meant after 4 overs the score was 229. Next came Imogen and Caitlin, who took the total to 245 after 8 overs, Caitlin playing her first league match did well. Niamh and Amber the took the Yateley score past Coves total with some good running between the wickets and a couple of boundaries from Niamh,
So after 12 overs the total stood at 273 for 1. Enter Jess and Aryana for their usual frantic 4 overs, they entertained the crowd stealing runs from overthrows and wides, topped up by a couple of boundaries from Aryana. this all meant that we finished on 302 for 3.
A tremendous effort, just one softball game left and so far we have won 5 out of 7 games and sit joint second in the league.
