Match report A beautiful morning and Odiham were the visitors for our third game against them this season. Skipper Jess won the toss and decided we would bowl first.
A good start with three tight overs, then came an amazing over that set up the win. 2 run outs by Hannah and a wicket for Aryana, left the Odiham team with a negative score after 4 overs. Odiham started to recover but a wicket by Jess meant at the half way stage Odiham were on only 207. The next wicket came in the 12th over and it was Hannah again with her third run out of the match! A late flurry of wickets for Niamh and Libby meant Odiham ended on 232 for 8, great bowling and super fielding meant Odiham only hit 1 boundary.
So Yateley only needed 33 to win and Hannah didn't waste any time, hitting the second ball of the innings for 4 and better still the third ball for a lovely 6! she has having a great morning. After taking 11 of the first over, the runs slowed down and after 4 overs we were only one 212 for 2. Emily and Libby came next and after a good start, Emily playing in hr first match for the U11's got a bit over excited and took some silly runs between the wickets and lost a few wickets meaning at the half way stage we were on 213 for 5 and a straightforward run chase had got a little more difficult. Then the dynamic duo Ary and Jess cam in to get us back on track. loads of quick runs and a few boundaries saw us reach 237 for 5 after 12 overs and in a winning position. Another loss of a wicket meant that scores were tied once more, then Amber and Niamh decided it was time to hit some boundaries taking us to a comfortable win of 259 for 6. A great performance means that the girls have still only lost 1 softball match and are climbing the league nicely.
