Match report Well what a start, these girls were terrific tonight. the first hardball game for some and you couldn't tell they looked like they had been playing for years. Captain for the day Anna lost the toss but that was all we were going to lose. Niamh and Hannah J got things going with some positive running and despite 3 wickets in the third over the girls did well. Aryana and Jess then scored 23 off their 4 overs and set thing up nicely for Anna and Christa who kept the scoreboard moving. Enter Libby our U9, facing her first ball in hard ball cricket she bit a glorious 4 through mid wicket to massive cheers. so Yateley set a reasonable target of 242.

I knew we were going to be a good bowling team and our bowling won us the match, Anna started with a tight first over, good overs by Niamh and Jess followed until Libby stepped up. In her first delivery for the U11's she bowled the Odiham player and the girls went crazy. It wasn't long before Christa took her first wicket and sister Hannah bowled a really tight over for just 1 run. Anna bowled another good over and then swapped with Aryana behind the stumps. The wickets then started tumbling with one for Niamh, Jess and 2 for Aryana who the Odiham players could not get away. Odiham were always behind the run rate and finished on 227.

So Proud of the girls, a great decision to enter the hardball league this year
