Match report Hottest day of the year so far - shattered!!! - gutted!!!
Lost the toss and yet, to my surprise, was asked to bat - wasn't going to turn that down!
And we proceeded to bat as well as we have all season to post 218, with contributions all the way down the card - definitely a defendable total!
But that's where the hard work really started. I suspected as much and they turned out to be a stronger batting side than bowling.
But with 51 still required off 10, and with 6 down, the game was still in the balance ...... but in the end, they just had too many big hitters for us and finally ground us down to win by 3 wkts.
A really good all-round team performance that I'm shattered (and gutted!) that we came up just short.
