Match report Very proud coach as our small band of 6 took on Basingstoke U11s. Tonight was school event night for the U11 team so four U9s stepped up to join Maja and Grace. What an exciting game with thrills, spills (literally, when Niamh recovered from a tumble to run for her ground!) and lots of running. Captain Maya and Grace got the team off to a super start with great communication at the crease followed by a busy spell by the tornado two Jess and Aryana. Lucy and Niamh faced up to some accurate Basingstoke line and length bowling to help us to a very healthy score card.
Mature and active fielding with good backing up and support for bowlers meant some sure-fire 4s were cut off by the girls who threw themselves into the chase with gusto. The match was always poised to go either way and the team should be very proud. 3 girls only started playing in May but you would never have known tonight. An absolute pleasure to see all that enthusiasm and enjoyment.
