Match report Hot day away at Cove and the girls were in determined mood! Captain for the match Aryana won the toss and elected to field first. Today the girls remembered to walk in, keep those hands at the ready and back up at the stumps meaning 2 super run outs and several runs saved, including a couple of 4s stopped from Cove strongest batter.
Three new batting pairs today to keep it fresh and lots of great calling and running, particularly from Aryana and Emily who sneaked in several daring runs. Lucy decided today was a day for 4s and hit three in a row much to her own and the team's delight. A super flick off her leg for Jessica F and her 4 of the match.
Thanks to Bella for fielding for Cove when their youngest player needed to retire from the field and a good spell of bowling from Matilda against a good batter. It's hard to remember that shy Matilda we used to know! Libby was extra supportive in the field today and set an excellent example for walking in. Niamh moved her bowling line and length up a notch today and her smile said it all at the end of the match.
So proud of your attitude today girls and thanks again parents...you are a super support to the Yateley girls, the opposition girls and all the Yateley team. Spirit of cricket much in evidence.
