Match report Won toss - batted!
After a steady start, we looked to profit from a lightning outfield - but we lost too many early wickets to really make it count!
An unfortunate run out from a direct hit was the biggest blow, just as Paul looked ready to open up, and at 80 for 6 things did not look too good.
But a spirited rally from the likes of Duncan, Chris Ellard (on debut), Aravind and Andy allowed us to reach a total to give us some hope, albeit we knew we were probably 30-40 short.
Early wickets was what we needed and sharp reactions from Ryan and Paul saw their skipper run out for 2. But that was about as good as it got.
It was their no.4 who really took it to us and he saw them through with some big hitting. However, we did drop him 3 times - it could have been oh so different if we had got him early! Various bowling combinations were tried at each end but all to no avail - but a word for Praful who, amidst all the carnage, bowled a very tidy 5-over spell taking 1 for 16.

Teas? - well, I did them but I'd like to convey HUGE thanks from start to finish for the support from others for making that happen, right through to the clean-up at the end. With everything else that goes on as captain, that support was just great.
