Match report A super win to finish what has been a great season for our U10 girls. Captain Millie led her young team with confidence, encouraging everyone both with the bat and in the field. Aryana and Niamh got the batting off to a strong start with good calling, running and a boundary. Suvali, Jessica F and Libby built on the foundations by hitting the available good balls and making good running decisions. Millie and Jessica M completed the batting innings with some swift singles; backing themselves between the wickets.
Today I was so proud of the bowling…the girls bowled a tight line and length and there were so many near misses of the stumps! Lots of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ from the spectators! A couple of super stops in the field and keen wicket keeping too.

I was particularly impressed with how the girls when wicket keeping supported the young opposition batters by helping a couple of them to stand in the correct place. They certainly demonstrated the spirit of cricket which is fantastic and what we want to encourage in our Yateley players.
