Match report Good win today for the famous forth XI. Henstock won the toss and decided to bat first and at 29 for 1 after 8 overs it was a nice start. However at 29 for 4 after 10 overs things had changed. Noel and Wes steadied the ship but at 75 for 6 times were tough. youth and experience were the answer with a lovely 25 from Cameron and 45 from the evergreen John Muir. New boy Cibi John hit 3 late sixes during a dashing 29 not out. Just to annoy John McGowan, Henstock declared on 214 to leave Newbury a challenge on a tricky wicket.
Yateley couldn't have had a better start thanks to a great catch by Joe to give Owen a wicket in the first over. Newbury the regrouped and wickets from Wes and Cameron had Newbury 73 for 3. Enter, New girl Mckenzie who bowled a beautiful spell taking 3 for 23 off 10. add to this an excellent run out by Wes and wickets from Cibi and John Muir left Newbury on 149 for 9 and the game all but over. some big hitting kept things interesting until Wes stepped up to take the final wicket.
