Yateley Cricket Club Lost by 8 Wickets

Match report The first match was always going to be a tough one and after stand in Skipper Henstock lost the toss, Yateley were put in to bat. Apparently tails does sometimes fail! A steady start by the McGowan Duo and things were looking ok when we lost the first wicket at 15. A steady stream of wickets followed before the tail wagged a bit with a couple of blows from Izzy and a lovely 21* from Ryan. YCC ended with a disappointing total of 56 but did spend 33 overs in the middle which will be beneficial as the season progresses.
So after a nice tea in the Aldershot army Pavillion it was time to bowl them out and after youngster Owen Evans took an early wicket, the morale was high. however the cove batting proved too strong, and despite a wicket for Simon and good bowling from the team, Cove won by 8 Wickets. Special mention to the juniors Owen and Robin who bowled very well under difficult circumstances and to Sunil & Ajay who made the debuts and enjoyed the match despite the result.

Ps there will be no mention of the skipper who didn't get a duck and definitely didn't drop a regulation catch off young Robin.
