Match report Yateley lost the toss and were inserted by Boyne Hill who were looking to chase using their strong batting line up, Anthony McGowan got us off to a rapid start punishing some wayward early bowling before being trapped in front when the bowling tightened up. Luke Mason followed shortly afterwards bringing Jim Henstock to the crease and Jim showed his intent by lofting a straight six. Jim helped the skipper to put on 77 until a lazy run had a chastened captain run out having slowed down running to the 'safe' end. Jim hit a few more lusty blows before missing a straight full toss! Simon Neilson also had perished early and this brought Andre Pienaar to partner Mike Brown - Mike kept on end up while Andre settled in and then Andre cut loose punishing anything loose to bring up a well deserved and after Robin Smith joined him brought up a well deserved 50 - Robin went for 14 swinging at the death and Andre was joined by Debbie who he contrived to 'run out' off the last ball! 234-9 from 47 and we went to (a wonderful) tea having at least posted a target.

Boyne Hill started solidly until Robin removed one of the openers at 36, but the seamers were not getting a lot out of the now improving wicket so Ryan Stentiford came on to bowl some slower stuff and immediately enticed a hard drive to the captain who gleefully clung on (no time to avoid it!) to give Yateley hope. After the drinks the ball was given to Debbie Pienaar with the instruction to 'give it some air' and she entice one of Boyne Hill's colts (on 92 at the time) to chip a tame return catch for another wicket! Boyne Hill continued to attack and sadly dropped catches and balls falling into spaces told and despite Debbie teasing a mistimed sweep from another colt (which Jim lunged forwards to take) and Ryan bagging a pair off well-deserved wickets late on Boyne Hill reached the target with 15 balls to spare.

The highlights with the bat were Jim and his 75 and Andre's unbeaten 59. Ryan's bowling stands out and he showed impressive control. Tea was outstanding and was praised very highly by all the opposition.

A final tanks to John Parker for turning out as usual to do the final cut and also for mowing the outfield on Friday - John quietly does a lot of little things that let us all play on a Saturday!
