Yateley Cricket Club Lost by 1 run!

Match report An exciting match to watch with two girls, Anna and Mahnum playing their first ever match. Yateley Girls set a great target for Aldershot with some super running between the wickets ( a couple of hairy moments at times!) and great communication between batters. Aldershot needed to be on their toes as the girls ran in their bats - the infamous 'hoover manoeuvre' paying dividends several times!
Lauren stepped up to bowl( only her second match ) and took a wicket in her first over, setting the tone for a nail-biting second innings as Aldershot edged closer to the target. Fantastic wicket keeping by several girls kept the batters at the stumps while good stops in the field prevented singles. At the beginning of the final over scores were level. Yateley needed a wicket while Aldershot needed a run. Captain Safa bowled 5 dot balls and Aldershot scrambled a bye to win by just one run. A fantastic game played until the very last ball. Well done girls!
