Match report I’m not one to suggest the toss would be critical in a game as low as Div. 9a – but after a bucket load of rain 24 hrs earlier, it might just have been on this occasion – lost it, sent in! After a steady start from John (27) and Paul, we started to lose wickets at a steady rate. Sid continued his good run with a fine 35 and a wonderful cameo from Adam (24 including two 6s) saw us through to 134 all out. However, with conditions drying all the time, it felt like 20 to 30 runs light. It felt like a few more after just one over of the reply when N. Tahir signalled his intentions, sending Andy back over his head for a straight 6, and that despite Andy trapping what we thought was their main danger man for a duck! By the time Tahir departed, he had made 49 and the damage was done and in the end, Sonning cantered to a 6 wkt victory, despite late wickets from Andy, Adam and Chandu. Had we dismissed Tahir earlier, who knows, especially judging by what followed. Small margins!!
