Match report On a glorious sunny "warm" day, Yateley lost the toss (yes yes, again) and were put into field. We started well and were rewarded in the 12th over with Harry Bartlett taking the wicket. We continued to restrict Marlow and had them 3 down with the score on 47 after 17 overs but Marlow worked hard and built a partnership. On a hot day, we knew we had to be patient and would be rewarded for our hard work and we finally broke the partnership in the 44th over with the score on 167. Rhodes Franklin and Jonthan Ssebanja bowled well and were backed up in the field but some tight fielding and we managed to restrict Marlow to 195 all out (taking the remaining 7 wickets in the last 7 overs). Rhodes Franklin taking 4 for 27 and Jonathan Ssebanja taking 3 for 42. Yateley took to the chase in high spirits and promoted Ryan Bone to open the batting but after losing James Muir in 3rd over the chase looked like it might be difficult but Ryan and James Halson batted with controlled aggression and when Ryan departed for a fine 42 with the score on 73 after 18 overs, Ollie Soames and James Halson continued the chase in clinical fashion but when James "cut" Halson played on for 39 with the score on 109 it was left to Ollie Soames and Dan Bone to take Yateley home with 3.2 overs to spare. Ollie finishing on 66 not out and Dan on 33 not out with Ollie hitting the winning runs. Great performance and control showed by both bowlers, fielders and batters on a hot and testing day.
