Match report After winning the toss (yes, we won the toss) Yateley decided to bat on what looked a good batting track but after losing our leading run scoring with the score on 15 James Halson and Ollie Soames built a strong partnership with the next wicket falling on 59 runs. We proceeded to lose wickets through some good bowling and fielding but Jonathan Ssebanja had other ideas and scored 94 not out with the "lower" middle order contributing valuable runs to enable Yateley to post 228 in 52 overs. Yateley took to the field with a repeat of the bowling performance a few weeks ago against Eversley and decide to try a something different by taking the old ball, with a dream start with Stuart Lipo bowling a wicket maiden in the first over and things just went better in the next over with Rhodes Franklin bowling a maiden and Jonathan Ssebanja joining the elite group of having a direct hit run out, leaving Cookham Dean 0 for 2 after two overs, which quickly 4 for 19 after 12 overs. The bowling and fielding were top notch and this was capped off by a number of direct hits in the fielding diving saves and a stunning catch by James "goal keeper" Muir to take the final wicket with Cookham Dean all out for 87. The pick of the bowlers were Jonathan Ssebanja with 4 for 32 and Stuart Lipo 4 for 42, with Rhodes Franklin and Anthony Muir offering great support (Yateley did not take the new ball, which is unheard of for us). Great game and played hard and full of the right attitude. Yateley can hold their heads high after beating another table topper team. Thanks to Liz for scoring, our supports and of course Cookham Dean. Finally thank you to the groundsmen for the work on the wicket and ground.
