Match report After losing another toss (thanks Harry Bartlett), Yateley were put in to field on a lovely sunning day and what looked like a very good batting track. Our bowlers had to work hard and were reward in the 10th over with Harry Bartlett striking first. We did not take another wicket until the 27th over when Wokingham had put on 122. As shown in previous games our bowlers have the ability to adapt and were restricting Wokingham but with wickets in hand and a few overs to go, Wokingham accelrated the run rate and scored 254 off 49.6 (an extra ball should have been bowled due to a wide but Wokingham declared). Rhodes Franklin being the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets and Ryan Bone having a good game behind the stumps with two catches, a stumping and a run out (which we are still unsure of...is it a catch or run out?!). The top order had their instructions (bat like we did against Chesham and we will win) and James Halson and James Muir duly obliged by putting on an opening partnership of 122 for the first wicket but true to Yateley tradition, we lost our next 3 wickets for 25 runs but in big games big characters stand up and Ryan Bone and Jacques Pienaar led the way with a well constructed 75 and 40 (not out) and by the time Ryan Bone was out, we only needed 8 runs and enter Jonathan "trouble maker" Ssebanja to try finish the game off but kindly left it to Jacques to hit the winning runs with 5 balls to spare. Great game and well constructed run chase. Thanks to our supportors and Sandy for scoring and as always, our opposition Wokingham for a great game.
