Match report Two in Two for the 1s...another good win on a lovely summer day. After losing the toss and being put in to bat (which is what we wanted anyway but now with some doubt, "do the home team know something more..."). On a good looking track and lightening outfield Yateley constructed a decent total, thanks to Dan Bone (82) and Jacques Pienaar (47) who were supported well by James Muir (37). Posting over 200 for the second innings in a row was testament to our training and work during the week. Yateley took to the field confident but aware of how quick the outfield was and that Falkland hand not lost a game this season. As always we started with a buzz and were rewarded in the 4th over and soon had Falkland 81 for 5 in 22 overs but as we know with cricket there is always a quiet period and Falkland built a partnership that we had to work hard to break, which we did taking with some superb fielding led by Manu Rawat and we took the 6th wicket on 145 and we took the next 4 wickets on a track that looked very easy to bat on, bowling Falkland out for 182 with Harry Barlett the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets, supported by Anthony Muir (2) and Stuart Lipo (2). 25 points should have been but for a slow overrate in the field, meaning 1 point penalty. Thanks to our supporters and Sandy for scoring. And finally, Falkland for a great game that was played hard but fair.
