Match report First league game of 2015...We travelled to Stoke Green in high hopes after some good preseason games. After looking at the pitch and winning the toss, Yateley decided to bowl first and struck in the first over to have the home team 4 for 1 off the first over. With some tight bowling and some good catching, Yateley restricted Stoke Green to 140 all out after 38.3 overs, with Sam Kennett taking 4 wickets, supported by Anthony Muir (2), Harry Bartlett (2) and Jonathan Ssebanja (2). With time on our hands, Yateley took to the field before tea but lost early wickets and at tea were in trouble but still in good spirits to chase the total down. Unfortunately we were unable to achieve our goal and it was left to Anthony Muir and Kerr Franklin to show grit and skill to delay the result. That skill and grit will be needed for the season and there are lessons to be learnt for the remaining season. Thank you to our supporters, Sandy for scoring and Stoke Green for their hospitality.
