Match report The inaugural Aldershot Charity U14 Girls Festival dawned with guaranteed sunshine and the prospect of three 15 over hardball matches…a full day’s cricket ahead!
We lost our first match against a strong Aldershot team but went on to win a tightly fought but good natured contest against Camberley. Quick running between the wickets set a good target for Camberley, while tight bowling with few extras meant meagre pickings for Camberley’s batswomen.
After a short “raffle break” the girls went on to play the scarily named "Twenty/Twenty" team who did appear to have a large number of U14s. Undaunted the girls bowled, fielded and batted with determination. Sadly Twenty/Twenty were a very strong batting outfit and despite dives and rapid running the girls couldn’t stop the runs.
The Girls were undaunted – team spirit and camaraderie shone through and our girls were complimented on their behaviour and conduct. (We also have the best celebration!)
