Match report With the Title in the bag, time to allow the team off the leash (or so I thought).
After winning the toss decided to bat on a distinctly suspect looking pitch, and so it proved (not helped by some less than text book shots!!!). Highlights of the batting!! were L Cresswell (26), U Shishodia (18), R Stentiford (18*), W Day (13). As for Izzy (I'm Injured, but I can bat!!!) Akhtar, well he missed one trying to cut it off middle stump!!. When I was last man out the 3rd's had amassed a sorry looking 113!!!
With tea still 3/4 hr away despite my 10 overs of "derised" blocking, we took to the field. Despite some tight bowling, and the odd chance/half-chance the breakthrough failed to come and Cove went into the tea break 39 for 0. Hmmm.. not going quite to plan, was it time to play the Joker! No need to worry Izzy was already on, and 19 overs and 3 balls later with figures of 9 for 49 Yateley 3's had miraculously maintained their unbeaten record.

M.O.M "The Cove Pitch", oh damn it! alright then Izzy Akhtar.

I would just like to say thank-you to all of the support players that have helped the 3rd's this year. While we can all look back at the 100's\50's\5 for's, without you guys we would never be in a position to enjoy the good times, so thank-you to all who have contributed to the team's success.
