Match report After winning the toss, Yateley decided to field on a sunny day which, after 16 overs, looked a fantastic call, Beaconsfield were 44 for 2. Beaconsfild fought back and a very good partnership helped them consolidate and rebuild. After drinks and a short team talk, Yateley stepped up a gear and applied further pressure with some great catching and tight bowling, which restricted Beaconsfield to 201 for 9 of 52 overs, with Jacques (Andre) Pienaar and Stuart Lipo taking 3 wickets a piece. We went into the second innings full of confidence of chasing down, what we thought, to be a par score. After a bit of a shaking start, Manu Rawat (21) and Ryan Bone (42 from 33 balls) got the chasing back on course but with a flurry of wickets the chase was cut short despite some good knocks from Miles Covers (25) and Jacques Pienaar (20). It was left to Sam Kennet and the expericed head of Ant (I will keep sweeping) Muir to hold out for a hard fought draw. Thanks to everyone for their efforts and sportsmanship (which was praised by the umpires after the game). We can hold our heads high and in the words of Ryan Bone..."go again next week". Thanks to Debbie Pienaar for scoring and for our loyal supportors (who wore out the ground and pavement).
