Yateley Cricket Club Lost by 21 Runs

Match report Needing Old Father Time (G Soames) and yours truly to bring the average age up to 20 something, yateley took a fresh faced young side over to T&T.
Yours truly continued where he'd left off last season and duly lost the toss yet again!! T&T decided to bat. Harry (Trent Boult) Wheeler (5-20) then duly layed into the opposition leaving a few of the supposedly superior T&T side scratching their heads, with able support from Robin (Identity Theft) Smith & Joe (The Jinx) Grimmett (3-23). With the opposition in dis-array, Joe was withdrawn from the attack after just 3 overs. The sense of relief from the opposition was short lived however as the McGowan double act kicked into action, Joe (2-18) & Anthony an unlucky (0-18). Finally a tidy spell from J Soames (0-17) & D Woods (0-29) completed a good bowling display, with Harry & Joe returning at the end to finish up the tail. In the end the opposition made a average looking 162, but having been in trouble at 65-8 this was a good effort on their part.
A confident Yateley side then set out to chase down the 163 needed, lead by old father time (G Soames 73 score\age?!) & Pope Duncan the First. A solid start was made before Joe (The Jinx) Grimmett was sent out to umpire and within 2 balls of his umpiring spell Yateley had lost the first two wickets (Thanks Joe!!). Gerard continued to lead the way supported by the Mighty Mini's (J Soames & H Maxfield). Towards the end of the innings Gerard received good support from J McGowan (14) & A McGowan (9) before finally being last man out on 73.

Well played guys a great effort. Personally I feel a place in the 5th xl beckons for me (This being something like the 19th whole in Golf!!)
