Match report On a slow pitch Yateley were put into bat and made a steady but unspectacular start, with G Soames & J Soames putting on an opening stand of 62 off 24.4 overs. When G Soames finally succumbed shortly after the drinks break M Handock took up the chase with a well crafted 59, but Yateley struggled to break free of the Royal Ascot shackles, eventually making 168-7 off their 47 overs.

in reply Royal Ascot struggled to show their early season form and could only manage 104-7 from 43 overs. A tidy bowling performance from Yateley and with a little bit of luck, awareness & agility Yateley might have won the match. G Soames 2-6, R Franklin 1-4, C Geere 2-19, A Davies 2-23.
