Yateley Cricket Club Won by 9 Runs

Match report On a slighty damp pitch Yateley were put into bat and with the ball struggling to run to the boundary found the going difficult. After assessing the wicket Yateley were happy to settle for a total between 135/150, but despite some good contributions we found ourselves a little short of the desired total when we were eventually bowled out for 113 (J Garrett 29, S Kennett 23, R Stentiford 19)
With the track still a little stodgy from the rain on Thursday/Friday, Yateley decided to start with the old ball and were quicly rewarded with S Kennett picking up their opener in his 1st over but despite an effective opening spell from S Kennett (5-26) Yateley's seamers struggled to take wickets at the other end. With the opposition seemingly working their way to victory, up steps Mr dependable M Handock (3-16) and combined with the re-introduction of S Kennett cleaned up the Finchampstead tail to hand victory by 9 runs.
Thanks to Finchampstead for making a competetive but good spirited game, and good to see the youth getting a chance. As the likes of Yateley & Cove have found the benefits will reveal themselves over the years to come.
