Match report On a blistering hot day, Yateley 4th xI travelled over to Locks Ride to take on Royal Ascot 4th XI, the ground looked very picturesque but the wicket not quite so. Yateley won the toss and the captain took pity on his team by opting to bat first, opening with himself and Duncan Mcgregor, Stuart falling quickly for 5. Harry Maxfield also fell cheaply for 1 before Angad Mathews and Duncan steadied the ship, Angad scoring 21 before falling LBW to a ball that was possibly going over the stumps. Good cameos from Joe McGowan, Anthony McGowan and new boy Richard Murley saw Yateley all out for 160 from , crucially not using 4 overs from their full allocation of 52 overs.

The pich as expected had misbehaved somewhat, starting with the old ball Angad Mathews and Anthony McGowan quickly had royal Ascot at 14 for 2 with the help of two catches from the skipper, a mini revival then saw Ascot to 76 for 3 before Murley removed H Thomason for 28. Further wickets for Angad and a run out by Angad and Cameron Hughes saw Ascot limp towards the total, J Dunnet seeing them home unbeaten on 41 with 4 overs to spare.
