Match report On a very windy Alton wicket Alton won the toss and decided to bat first, so we set about containing them to 112 for 4. Given the wind and the speed of the outfield this was a pretty good performance (see bowling figures for the details). Oliver Newton took 2 wickets with some very accurate bowling, Michael as captain and Jade as Vice captain also bowled very well, with 4 overs each for just 8 runs and 1 wicket and 7 runs and no wickets respectively.

Ragan ran out one of their players with a fantastic throw from around mid-wicket. Max did a great job on his wicket keeping debut - very quick hands and movement.

Our batsman played some lovely shots, then played some shots straight to the Alton fielders, that gave a very strong Alton fielding team catching chances that they took willingly & capably. 5 batsmen were caught today, so the coaching team will be reminding you all (as I did before, during and after the match) to keep the ball low unless you can clear the fielding players, which will be rarely.

Luke, Alex and Oliver Newton all batted for the longest, with Jade playing 2 very good cricket shots to reach the boundary twice. Unfortunately Alton were just too strong on this occasion, but it was a game played in good spirit with Michael captaining the side very well.
