Match report Alanna Birch Reports

We lost the toss and were put into bat first we opened with Rachel and Jess who took the singles but the first to fall was Jess who got bowled. Alice took the place of Jess and played some excellent shots. The next to fall was Rachel who also got bowled. The next batter in was AJ who put on 32 runs before getting retired and Alice got retired a couple of balls later on 33. The next two batters in were Kathryn and Cassie, Kathryn got 6 before getting out and Cassie got out for no runs. The next two girls in were Emma C and Beth G who were back very soon as Beth got bowled. Our final score was 162-5 which is our highest score this season.

After a very short break between innings Yateley took to the field opening the bowling with AJ and Cassie who kept the run rate down and Cassie was rewarded with a wicket. Alice and Rachel also bowled 4 over’s each and tried really hard to keep pressure on Aldershot. Kathryn, Emma C and Beth also bowled well. Yateley took the game down to the final 2 overs before Aldershot got the chance to get the winning runs.

This was a great effort from all the girls who played and, we were unlucky not to win a game that we deserved to.
