Match report AJ Reports

Having already played Holybourne this season and losing we knew that they are a very strong side. We won the toss and decided to field first. We played on the new ground which keeps very low which was good for us as Holybourne are use to bounce from playing on artificial. We opened the bowling with AJ and Cassie who tried to keep the run rate down. Beth Goodsell in her first U16 match bowled and did a great job. Rachel, Alice, Kayleigh and Emma C all bowled well. Emma R and Beth Smith fielded really well stopping the singles. Holybourne finished on 128-2 after 20 over’s.

Our turn to bat and it went downhill. We opened the batting with Alice and Rachel. Alice was the first to go which brought AJ to the crease who only was there a few balls before getting out to a ball that kept low. The next batter in was Kayleigh who stayed there with Rachel and made a good partnership but then Kayleigh got out. This brought Cassie to the crease who played the straight balls but soon got out. The next person in was Emma R who played the bad balls, unfortunately Rachel was next to fall after a great innings, next in was Emma C who was there a short time before getting out. This meant that our new girl Beth had to bat and was back in very soon because her batting partner Emma R got out.

This was a good effort by all the girls who played but need to be louder in the field next time!
