Match report Disappointing to lose to Holybourne last night. However, with only 4 true U16's and an U11 facing a team of U16 County & District players it was always going to be a mismatch. What was exceptional was the strength of character shown by the Yateley Girls. Far from refusing to lie down & accept defeat and led by Captain Alanna Birch, they took the game to Holybourne and made them work hard for the victory. 3 wickets for Kathryn and a maiden wicket for Cassie Fraser set the scene in the first innings, with Emma Roper scampering around in the field and P and Georghia strong on the boundary.
Kayleigh and Kathryn played some stylish shots as openers with Kayleigh producing her best performance with the bat and retiring on 30!! Addie scored a super 10 (all whilst Duncan had his back to her!!) but for me the performance of the night goes to MoM Emma Roper. Not only was she effective in the field, but she played the innings of her life scoring 15. Very impressive girls. I was incredibly proud of you all.
